I'm Jake - based in West Lancashire, shooting small weddings and elopements for couples who want a real record of their day rather than a highlight reel.

I've been shooting for seven years, and weddings suit how I work.

My approach is documentary first. I follow the day as it unfolds, stay out of the way, and photograph what's actually happening. If you want a portrait session, I build one in, but I won't spend your day arranging you. Small weddings suit this particularly well. Fewer people means more room to breathe, and more of the day actually makes it into the photos.

I know what the day asks of a photographer, the pace of it, the light, the moments you only get once. My wedding portfolio is still growing, and I've priced accordingly, but the eye behind the camera isn't new. I take on a small number of bookings each year to make sure every one gets proper attention. If you'd rather someone invested in getting it right than someone working through a packed diary, that works in your favour.
